Ms Alejandra Arellano

I am a private English and Spanish-speaking Clinical Psychologist in Camden, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and affiliated with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Peruvian School of Psychologists. I studied a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Major in Clinical Psychology in Peru. My clinical experience started 11 years ago, when I did an internship in a Psychiatric Hospital, focusing on patients with addictions and severe mental health issues such as schizophrenia. I also was an intern at an NGO, where the work was focused on high risk and extreme poverty communities in Lima, Peru, where several teenagers I worked with were victims of abuse and trauma. For the following 7 years I worked as a school counsellor and private psychologist in Peru. As a school counsellor, I worked with cases of depression, self-harm, eating disorders, as well as anxiety and social difficulties. As a private psychologist, I worked with children, adolescents, and adults, mainly focusing of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem. Since moving to London, I have continued working as an online therapist and as a Psychology teacher at a secondary school in London.
