How we measure our stats
We believe mental health platforms should be honest about the numbers they share. This page explains, in plain language, how each headline statistic on Mind a Porter is calculated, where the data comes from, and what it does and does not capture. If you have a question that isn't answered here, we welcome it.

Client Retention
What it measures
The percentage of clients who return for a second session after their first paid session with a Mind a Porter therapist. We count a client as retained if they book at least one further appointment within 90 days of their initial session.
How we collect it
Calculated from anonymised booking data stored in our platform database. We count the cohort of clients who completed a first paid session and then check whether they subsequently booked another session with any therapist on the platform.
Time period
Rolling 12-month window, updated monthly.
Limitations & caveats
This figure does not distinguish between clients who chose not to continue therapy and those who stopped for external reasons (relocation, financial circumstances, recovery). It also excludes clients who only ever intended to attend a single session (for example, a one-off consultation).
Client Satisfaction
What it measures
The percentage of clients who report being satisfied or very satisfied with their therapy experience after completing a session.
How we collect it
Based on post-session satisfaction surveys sent to clients after completed appointments. Clients are invited to rate their experience on a five-point scale; those selecting satisfied or very satisfied are counted as satisfied.
Time period
Rolling 12-month window across all completed sessions.
Limitations & caveats
Survey responses are voluntary and may reflect self-selection bias — clients with strong opinions (positive or negative) are more likely to respond. The survey measures satisfaction with the session experience, not clinical outcomes.
Sessions Delivered
What it measures
The total number of therapy, psychiatry, and assessment sessions delivered through the Mind a Porter platform since launch.
How we collect it
Counted from completed appointment records in our platform database, plus a legacy offset representing sessions delivered through our previous booking system before the current platform was introduced. The live figure on the homepage updates in real time as new sessions are marked complete.
Time period
Cumulative since launch. The displayed number includes both platform-tracked sessions and a historical offset from our previous booking system.
Limitations & caveats
Sessions that were booked but not attended (no-shows or cancellations) are excluded from the count.
Clients Helped
What it measures
The total number of unique individuals who have completed at least one session through the Mind a Porter platform.
How we collect it
Counted by unique client email addresses across completed appointment records, plus a legacy offset representing clients seen through our previous booking system before the current platform was introduced. The live figure on the homepage updates in real time.
Time period
Cumulative since launch.
Limitations & caveats
Each client holds a single account, so they are counted once regardless of how many sessions they attend. Clients who booked but never completed a session are not counted.
